Barahm Press is honored to be publishing a limited edition broadside for the 20th anniversary of Kundiman, a national nonprofit dedicated to the cultivation of writers and readers of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) literature. Having been nurtured by Kundiman as poetry Fellows, Cristiana Baik, founder of Barahm Press, and Hyejung Kook, the Co-director of Barahm Press’ creative arm, are deeply grateful for Kundiman’s ongoing support of AAPI writers. We are proud to contribute to Kundiman's 20th anniversary celebration.
The limited edition broadside will feature an excerpt from “Pantoum For the Future,” a poem collaboratively written at the 2022 Kundiman Retreat by faculty member Philip Metres with Fellows Pichchenda Bao, Sumita Chakraborty, Na Mee, Tariq Luthun, and Andie Millares.
You will eat preserved lemons in perfect silence.
The past will not haunt.
We will tend the land.
Because we have been tended to.
